dress code blues

We had a pretty fun argument in class today about the new dress code to be enforced in Taylor's starting tomorrow. The general consensus is that the new dress code is rubbish as usual.
For example:

No shorts for guys.
How short is short?

No slippers.
Why? It's convienient in the morning when you are rushing around.

This suggests that we should have an open debate with the Taylor's people who changed/improved the dress code. Worse, they suggest that we should be expelled after 2 infringements of this miserable dress code. Why? How does dressing influence the character we are? As some lawyers will attest, the Mafia gangsters in their suits and ties look like honest businessmen, until you start discussing deals with them. This goes to show that well-dressed fellows can and may be bad guys still.
Rubbish codes are rubbish codes, no matter who made them. We are the innocent sufferers and victims. God help us all, may he long be our shepherd in these trying times.

So this is my shout to all Taylorians and everyone out there:

Just remember that we are who we are, not what others want us to be. They can try to shape us, change our way of thinking to theirs, but it may not always work. We and we alone can guide ourselves to the right path.
